Welcome to KitchenMemo. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of our website, which provides recipes, cooking guides, and related food content.
We respect your privacy. This policy is written to be clear about exactly what we do — and don’t do — with your information.
1. Information We Collect
We do not currently require account registration, and we do not operate comment forms, newsletter sign-ups, or contact forms that collect personal information. As of the date above, KitchenMemo does not knowingly collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information directly from visitors.
However, like nearly all websites, some information is generated automatically as part of normal operation:
a) Automatically Collected Information
When you visit KitchenMemo, our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use may automatically log standard technical data, such as:
- IP address (typically anonymized or truncated where analytics settings allow)
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs
- Approximate geographic location (derived from IP address, at a city/region level)
This information is collected in aggregate and used only to understand site traffic and improve content — it is not used to personally identify you.
b) Cookies
KitchenMemo may use cookies (small text files stored on your device) for basic site functionality and, in the future, for advertising purposes (see Section 3 below). You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time; note that disabling cookies may affect certain site features.
2. How We Use Information
Any information described above is used solely to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content
- Understand aggregate visitor trends (e.g., which recipes are popular)
- Diagnose technical issues
- Support future advertising functionality (see below)
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties.
3. Google AdSense and Advertising (Current & Future)
KitchenMemo intends to display advertisements served by Google AdSense and/or other third-party advertising networks. If and when advertising is enabled on the Site, the following applies:
- Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to KitchenMemo and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- Third-party ad vendors, including Google, may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
For more information on how Google uses data when you use our Site, please visit Google’s Privacy & Terms.
We will update this Privacy Policy with additional detail at the time advertising is activated on the Site.
4. Third-Party Links
KitchenMemo may contain links to third-party websites (for example, brands, kitchen tools, or other food blogs referenced in our recipes). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
5. Children’s Privacy
KitchenMemo is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
6. Data Security
While we currently collect minimal to no personal data directly, we take reasonable precautions to protect any information associated with the Site (including technical/log data) from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California) regarding any personal data collected about you, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Because KitchenMemo does not currently collect personal data directly, we do not currently hold identifiable personal records to act on. Where third-party services (like Google AdSense) process data on our behalf, you can exercise rights directly through those providers’ tools (e.g., Google Ads Settings) or contact us and we will assist where possible.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we activate advertising, analytics, comments, or newsletter features. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
9. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us.
