About us
Beyond the boundaries of taste.
"A recipe is just a memory, written down so you don't have to keep it all in your head."
- Aurelia Rose
Who we are
One thousand flavors in one place.
KitchenMemo started the way most good things in the kitchen do — with a mess, a mistake, and a recipe I refused to lose again.
A few years ago, I was cooking my grandmother’s pasta sauce from memory, guessing at measurements I’d only ever seen her eyeball. Halfway through, I realized I’d forgotten a step, and there was no one left to call and ask. That night I started writing everything down — not just ingredients, but the small details that actually matter: why you rest the dough, what “golden, not brown” really looks like, which shortcuts are fine and which ones ruin dinner.
Message from founder
First, we eat. Then, we do everything else.
I’ve always believed a kitchen tells you who’s home. The smell before you open the door, the sound of a knife on a board, the recipe card with a coffee ring in the corner — that’s the stuff I wanted KitchenMemo to hold onto.
Every recipe on this site has been cooked in my own kitchen, usually more than once, usually with a few false starts before it was right. I write down what actually happened — the substitutions that worked, the timing that matters, the mistakes so you don’t have to make them too.
This isn’t a place for perfect, styled food that no one really eats. It’s a place for dinner that gets made again next week because it was that good and that easy. Thank you for cooking with us.
